CHOICE: Life Between Sessions.
Have you ever ended a session with a bodyworker/therapist and they gave you some suggestions or homework to help with whatever reasons brought you in to see them in the first place? Well if healing is what you want then its time to start taking these suggestions more seriously.
I'm sorry to break it to you, but bodyworkers alone cannot provide the healing your body/mind needs and desires. What you choose to do between our sessions is truly what makes the difference on your healing journey.
Ok, now that we got that real talk out of the way.
The good news is you have the control. As scary as that can sound to some folks, with a little change in perspective all this really means is you get to decide how you feel/respond/react. If this way of thinking blows up your mind or freaks you out, let it. Let the overwhelming feeling of "holy shit, you mean I'm the reason I'm where I am today?" take over and run it's course. Now, once you get past the scary part of taking control of your journey, healing or otherwise, you can see that you get to make the decisions on what kind of loving, pain free life you get to live.
Now that we have made the choice to be proactive and choose to take the steps to a more painfree life, lets talk about steps and tools.
I always suggest stretches and breathing excerises for the morning and night. Depending on the job you have, will determine how proactive we need to be. But I'm telling you, that most of us are living in a very forward motion life. Computers, driving, picking things up, texting, looking at the phone. The quickest way to relieving the constant strain on these muscles is creating a daily routine to stretch, roll and realign the body.
I personally have been using the tools I received from Deep Recovery. They have designed several tools that can keep your body balanced and you feeling more painfree between our sessions. I personally LOVE the neck track. For all those with text neck, that pain right where the head and neck meet that cause tension headaches, this tool is such a gamechanger.
Whether you follow the suggestions given by your therapist or your own personal game plan, this is going to be a choice you make daily and some days you won't choose "what's best". Remember, that's ok. Forgive yourself for when you fall off your path, life happens. What's so great is you get to wake up the next day and choose again. That's the beauty of it all. You are making these choices all day, everyday.
I am happy to join you on your path to self healing, self care and self love. I am joyous to even just to chat about what tiny steps would put you in the right direction for you. Whatever it is you need right now, you are supported.
